Give your pupils an inspiring, hands‑on day of music and visual art with Buzz Music & Arts CIC. In just one school day, children explore new art forms, meet professional artists, and complete all parts of Arts Award Discover, the nationally recognised introductory award for ages 5–11.
Arts Award’s unique qualifications support children and young people to develop as artists and arts leaders.
The programme develops skills for success in 21st century life including creativity, leadership, reflective thinking and communication skills. Young people also develop knowledge and understanding of their chosen art forms .
Arts Award is open to anyone aged 25 and under, and embraces all interests and backgrounds. Through Arts Award young people learn to work independently, helping them to prepare for further education and employment

We offer Discover Days throughout the school year and can accommodate:
Maximum group size: One full class (approx. 30 pupils).
Additional classes can be booked on separate days.
We begin with a short, exciting brass duo performance to spark curiosity and set the tone for the day. You could get maximum value from this by inviting the whole school to the performance.
Pupils learn how the trumpet works, try first sounds, explore rhythm and call‑and‑response, exercises, recording their reflections in their portfolio.
Children listen to examples of trumpet music across genres, discuss how it makes them feel, and learn about real musicians. They make notes in their portfolio.
Pupils further develop their playing to perform pieces with a backing track, reading standard notation.
Pupils create mood artwork, concert posters, or graphic scores inspired by the music they have explored. This is recorded in their portfolio.
Children practise pieces to perform and how to talk about their artwork and music, building confidence in communicating their learning.
Pupils showcase their learning by presenting a short musical concert or mini‑exhibition for another class or invited parents/carers.
We guide pupils through finishing their Discover portfolios, ready for certification.
We take care of the administration involved to submit children for the award. We then send the certificates to you once they arrive.
